Templates: give a project a set of document types — each with a description, an optional content skeleton, an icon, and its own set of fields. Create a document from a template and it starts with the right shape instead of a blank page
Fields that belong to a type: a field can apply to every document, or only to documents of one template. A runbook stops carrying an API endpoint's fields, and a document with no template behaves exactly as it does today

Stale content detection: the audit suite already finds duplicates, broken links, retired aliases, and the questions your docs never answer — next is surfacing documents that have quietly fallen behind the code they describe

Lock projects from manual editing: prevent accidental UI edits on projects managed by automation or CI/CD

Callout blocks: highlight important information with styled NOTE, TIP, WARNING, and CAUTION blocks
Sub-pages widget: automatically show child documents inside a parent page — easy navigation through hierarchical docs
Workspace-level templates: share document types across every project, with a starter library — ADR, runbook, API reference, post-mortem, RFC, changelog

Smarter search: jump to the exact section, get one-click AI summaries, navigate with keyboard

Export to PDF and DOCX: download an individual document or a whole project, not just the workspace-wide Markdown archive available today
Import from Notion, Confluence, and Markdown: bring your existing documentation into Meldoc without starting from scratch

Slack bot: ask questions and get answers from your documentation directly in Slack, with change notifications for subscribed channels

Document ownership: Assign a responsible owner to each document — they get notified when linked code changes
Review & Approval: Documents go through a review step before publishing — reviewers see a diff and can approve or request changes
Real-time co-editing: Multiple people can edit the same document simultaneously — changes appear instantly

Workspace AI Chat: Ask questions, get answers from your documentation, save responses as new documents
Automatic cross-project sync: When docs in one project change, dependent projects can update automatically
Contradiction detection: extend the audit suite — which already covers duplicates, broken links, retired aliases, and unanswered questions — with documents that contradict each other

Onboarding plan generator: AI builds a personalized onboarding plan for new team members based on your existing docs
Parallel doc versions: keep v1 and v2 of the same documentation side by side for APIs and SDKs, with a version switcher for readers. This is separate from version history, which already records how a single document changed over time

Documentation coverage in PRs: Like code coverage, but for docs — CI flags when changed code has no updated documentation
Offline mode: Read and edit docs without internet, sync automatically when back online
